Congratulations to Sarah Polhill, winner of the 2023 ‘Karen Schneider SMA Safer Sport Award’ that was presented at the 50th Northern Territory Sports Awards on 1 April 2023. A well-deserving win for her outstanding achievements in Rugby Union.

This award was created by SMA to celebrate Karen Schneider’s contribution to sports and exercise physiotherapy in NT. The award was presented to a person or persons who have contributed to creating a safer sporting environment for their team, players or community.

Sarah began playing with the University Pirates Rugby Union Club in 2016. She has excelled in numerous volunteer roles and is still actively involved with the club. At the University Pirates, Sarah leads a competent team of 10 sports trainers and has increased the number of sports trainers covering each game.

SMA would also like to congratulate all other winners from the night for their contributions to supporting sport in the NT community.
