CPD eligibility and recognition for SMA professional development events

All AHPRA-registered health practitioners are required to meet the continuing professional development (CPD) requirements set by the National Board of their profession.  SMA offers a range of self-directed events which may count towards these CPD requirements.

While SMA does not provide formal accreditation for CPD, we offer a Certificate of Attendance (including event details and duration) for CPD records, to those who registered for and attended a professional development event.

By attending an SMA event, health practitioners accept that they are personally responsible for:

• consulting the applicable Registration Standard, Code or Guidelines governing CPD requirements in their profession (including any additional CPD accreditation or endorsement processes relevant to their speciality or membership in a professional association);
• determining whether an event qualifies them for CPD credits, points or hours; and
• retaining records of their attendance or participation in an event for the purposes of any CPD audit.
