SMA pauses all face to face service delivery

Mar 19, 2020

Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) will pause all face to face service delivery including Safer Sport course delivery, Sports Medical Coverage services and local in person professional development events effective immediately.

The decision has been made by SMA in conjunction with senior sports medical professionals to put the health and wellbeing of members, clients, staff, sub-contractors, volunteers and communities first, to help minimise and manage the potential risks presented by COVID-19.

SMA is committed to monitoring the available government and health advice closely and to offering valuable alternative online connection, education and development opportunities for our network of sports medical professionals during this challenging time.

SMA will continue to offer online Safer Sport course content including theory components for a range of courses listed in our updated course calendar.

Students who are currently enrolled will be able to continue with online learning course components and will be notified when face to face courses resume, enabling them to complete their accreditation.

If you have any queries, please contact [email protected]

Should public health advice and this position change, we will update our network immediately.
