Submit your application for the 2023 SMA Research Foundation Grants by Thursday 31 August 2023.
Administered by the SMA Research Foundation, and thanks to the support of Mainstay Medical, SMA Research Grants are designed to support research conducted by postgraduate students and postgraduate practitioners for the purpose of advancing research in sports medicine, sports science and its relationship with disease prevention.
The 2023 funding round includes:
- 4 Research Foundation Grants at $2,000 per Grant, plus registration to the 2024 SMA Conference
- 1 Research Foundation Grant at $9,000, plus registration to the 2024 SMA Conference
- 1 WA Gender Equity in Research Grant at $2,000*, plus registration to the 2024 SMA Conference
*Additional Research Grant is special thanks to the WA Council and speakers who presented at our April symposium, “Gender Bias in Pain, Rehabilitation and Performance”.
We encourage all researchers to submit their work relating to the SMA discipline fields, however, preference will be given to new and emerging researchers conducting research related to the SMA Discipline fields (i.e. medicine, physiotherapy, dietetics, podiatry, psychology, exercise and sports sciences).
All applicants must be an SMA Member or Student Associate. Winners will be announced at the 2023 ASICS SMA Conference Gala Dinner held on Saturday 14 October at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort.
