Sports Medicine Australia is excited to announce that registration for the 2021 SMA e-Conference has reopened. In a first for SMA, the e-Conference will be delivered in a new and innovative way online, boasting a jam-packed program that sees the conference feature two elements: Summit (8-9 October) and Showcase (23 October).

The new look e-Conference will feature Keynote and Invited Speakers at our Summit from 8-9 October, and our Showcase will emphasize the best and latest in sports medicine research including the Best of the Best – Awards on 23 October.

The e-Conference will be available to delegates all around the world for the first time in SMA history, plus Members can view the entire conference for just $299 (All Access package) and only $199 for SMA Student and Sports Trainer Members – click here for further pricing information and packages.

The Summit begins proceedings on Friday 8 October and features a star-studded speaker line up directed towards to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

  • Australian Olympic Team Medical Director, Dr David Hughes delivers the prestigious Sir William Refshauge Lecture
  • Australian Paralympic Chief Medical Officer, Dr Rachel Harris
  • Round table discussion – The Tokyo Olympics Experience – Dr David Hughes, Dr Rachel Harris and two athletes (Olympian and Paralympian)

On Saturday 9 October, delegates will be spoiled for choice with two streams beginning from 9:30am (AEST) featuring world renowned keynote speakers and the latest Clinical Sports Medicine Symposia workshops.

The e-Conference then moves to the Showcase on Saturday 23 October, where delegates will see the best and latest in research, with five streams featuring Podium, Research Symposia and Poster presentations in the following areas:

  • Sports Injury Prevention
  • Clinical Sports Medicine
  • Sport & Exercise Science
  • Physical Activity and Health Promotion
  • Sports Trainer & Community Sport (Workshops)

Sports Trainer & Community Sport will feature at the 2021 SMA e-Conference for the first time, providing the latest knowledge and techniques for sports trainers of all levels.

The e-Conference saves the best for last, with the ‘Best of the Best’ awards, battling it out to win a share of over $23,000 presenting their Abstract and Symposia/Workshop submissions. Delegates will also see the illustrious ASICS Medal presented to conclude the e-Conference.
