Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) has today announced the postponement of the 2020 SMA Conference due to the ongoing health concerns surrounding COVID-19 and the government restrictions in place.
The 2020 SMA Conference was set to be held in Melbourne on October 14-17 at the Pullman Hotel but will now be moved to a later date in 2021.
SMA CEO Craig Knox said that although it is disappointing to postpone the 2020 SMA Conference, the health and wellbeing of attendees must come first.
“Due to COVID-19 and the surrounding restrictions in place, postponing the 2020 SMA Conference was the only logical option that ensured the health and safety of all of our attendees,” Knox said.
“We are working towards securing a new date in 2021 and will announce these details as soon as they are confirmed. We look forward to presenting an excellent Conference in 2021.
“We thank all of our partners involved in the preparation of the 2020 SMA Conference and we particularly thank members of our Conference Scientific Planning Committee and Chair Dr Andrea Mosler for their work on the program to date.”
For those who have registered for the 2020 SMA Conference and those who have made submissions for the program, SMA will be in contact with you directly in the coming days to provide financial options and further relevant information.
