Triathlete peak performance symposium
Dates: 8 February

This one-day symposium brings together leading experts in endurance sports to delve into a wide range of critical topics for triathlon professionals including injury prevention, tendon rehabilitation techniques and nutrition strategies. Learn more

Running strong: A guide to the physical assessment of runners
Dates: 29 March
Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Location: State Sport Centres – Parkville, 10 Brens Drive, Parkville VIC
Hands-on workshop, outlining the key steps in assessing the runner, encompassing assessments of mobility and strength using a range of both high-tech and low-tech methods. Learn more

Careers in Sports Medicine and Sports Science
In August 2024, SMA ran a special online forum on Careers in Sports Medicine and Sports Science.
Attendees learnt what they need to do, and the pathways they can take, to pursue a successful career in medicine and allied health disciplines with a sports medicine focus.
The panel consisted of leaders in their respective fields including, A/Prof Kerry Peek, A/Prof Kade Paterson, Prof Anthony Leicht, Prof George Murrell, Kylie Andrew and Dr Hilary Grover.

Top tips for an impressive presentation
2024 SMA & ACSEP Conference Co-Chairs, Dr Ebonie Rio and A/Prof Luke Kelly, and SMA Judging Chair, Prof Dara Twomey, provide invaluable tips and tricks to deliver an impactful academic presentation.
Tips and tricks are shared on ensuring a logical flow, clearly articulating main messages, balancing content for time-keeping, keeping it conversational, and creating legible and engaging slides.
The event is for students, academics and clinicians wanting to take their presentations to the next level.
