Job description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen with North Sunshine Eagles Football (soccer) Club for a qualified physiotherapist to join our existing High-Performance team. The experienced and hardworking physiotherapist will have the opportunity to work and develop in a fantastic environment with our Head of Physiotherapy and High-Performance staff. You will be required to be available for training nights on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6.45 pm start, with matches played on Saturday mid-afternoons.

The role itself will focus on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning and implementation for the first team squad.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide training and match day physiotherapy and pitch-side trauma cover for the first-team squad
  • Liaise with the Head of Physiotherapy in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of all senior players
  • Prescribe, develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation plans for injured and rehabilitating athletes
  • Assist with the maintenance treatment and prehab requirements of all senior players
  • Assist with implementing injury reduction programs
  • Work closely with S&C staff to ensure a smooth transition for players from injury through to return to performance
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all key personnel, colleagues and players
  • Maintain own CPD requirements, keeping up-to-date with current evidence-based physiotherapy/sports medicine/rehabilitation modalities
  • Keeping documentation on all aspects of injury management in accordance with the standards set by AHPRA using our own record-keeping system

Essential Requirements: 

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with AHPRA and have current professional indemnity & public liability insurance
  • Current Level 2 First Aid

Desirable Requirements:

  • 2 + years experience in a similar role

Must also demonstrate:

  • Excellent sports injury assessment, diagnostic & clinical reasoning skills
  • Solid understanding of sports injury rehabilitation principles
  • Strong manual therapy and taping skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with great communication
  • Sound problem solving, decision making, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of pitch-side concussion assessment or willingness to learn
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a strong drive to further develop knowledge, skills, and career as a physiotherapist working in sports
