This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) applications, approvals and renewals as well as providing secretariat services for the quarterly meetings of ASDMAC. The occupant of this position will be a key contact for information relating to ASDMAC functions both within SIA and externally. This position can involve regular contact with athletes, athlete support personnel, sporting organisations, members of the public and SIA staff providing information about TUE applications and the process – usually via phone and email.

Key duties and accountabilities

Key duties of the ASDMAC Officer role include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate TUE applications, ensuring all submissions are complete and record keeping is accurate
  • Liaise with doctors, athletes, National Sporting Organisations, and support people to provide advice on general TUE and specific application requirements.
  • Assist the Senior ASDMAC Officer and provide support to other ASDMAC functions as required, including secretariat services such as meeting administration, financial management and purchasing and records management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within Sport Integrity Australia and with external partners to ensure knowledge sharing and business improvements are implemented.
  • Provide input into and assistance with other projects as required by Sport Integrity Australia.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Coordinate TUE applications in line with World Anti-Doping Code, International Standard for TUEs and relevant Australian legislation.
  • Understand and uphold the values of confidentiality appropriate to the handling of medical information.
  • Maintain ‘best practice’ recordkeeping in accordance with Sport Integrity Australia’s Record Keeping Policy and Information Governance Framework.
  • Comply with relevant legislation including but not limited to Public Service Act, Fair Work, Work Health and Safety policies, ICT policies, security policies and agency policies and delegations.
  • Ensuring the APS Values and Code of Conduct is adhered to at all times.
