SMA is proud to bring you Wound Management for Athletes presented by Practice Nurse Kylie Byatt & Sports Trainer Tamara Spence. This face-to-face workshop will give an in depth look at both the medical and practical, on field management of a variety of wounds commonly seen in the sporting community.
The presenters will address the scope of practice for wound management for sports trainers. This session is ideal for Sports Trainers, First Aiders, parents, and others working closely with sport and athletes.
In this course, Kylie and Tammy aim to give Sports Trainers and other volunteers the benefit of their hands on and clinical experience to discuss different types of wounds, wound dressings and the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of on field wound management.
Kylie Byatt is an experienced Practice Nurse, currently working in both a managerial and clinical role. Her weekends are spent volunteering as a sports trainer for her AFL club, Palmerston Magpies and previously Palmerston Raiders Rugby League Club.
Tamara (Tammy) Spence has been a sports trainer for over 20 years with a wide range of coverage experience and is an accredited educator for SMA, providing level one sports trainer and other courses.
