Peter Brukner OAM is a world-renowned sports medicine clinician and researcher dedicated to educating sports medicine practitioners about the chronic health risks and solutions to overweight and obesity in modern society.

Peter’s research and clinical focus is driven by the overwhelming and persistent increases in health and financial costs over recent decades, caused by contemporary eating patterns.

Learn from Dr. Brukner as he provides a compelling case to show that past evidence has been skewed by poor science, politics, profit and has therefore been misinterpreted and translated into health advice and guidelines that have been damaging to population health.

His call to sports medicine clinicians is to bring diet and physical activity advice in line with current evidence.

The doctor of the future will give no medication but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.  Thomas A. Edison, 1903.

Dr. Brukner is the co-founder of the public health campaign SugarByHalf and is committed to the challenge of improving the nation’s health with improved diet and increased physical activity.  His most recent book A Fat Lot of Good was published in May 2018, with all proceeds going to the SugarByHalf campaign.
