SMA is thrilled to present this NT exclusive presentation ‘Healthy Clubs, Healthy Athletes’ presented by Kate Townsend and Tamzin France. This presentation will explore the potential for positive change within every Northern Territory Sporting Club. Our speakers will focus on the capacity of sport to be much more than physical activity and how everyone can contribute to the realisation of sporting clubs being strong, supportive, and successful. Participants will be provided knowledge, information on support services and resources available that can be used to further support their clubs to be healthier and safer while promoting athlete health and wellbeing.

Kate has a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and has worked in sports promotion roles and as General Manager for Charles Darwin University Sport Association. Currently studying a Master of Public Health while also working for the Alcohol and Drug Foundations as a Senior Community Development Officer, Kate is passionate about empowering communities to create positive change. Having been involved in all facets of sport, from participant, sports trainer, committee member, management and a mum, Kate is dedicated to helping clubs realise their potential to be strong, safe, and inclusive environments.
