Nicole Merrick is a Sydney based physiotherapist and PhD candidate at Edith Cowan University.

Her clinical background includes experience in high-level and community sport, mixed private practice and working with people with neurological conditions. Nicole’s PhD “Spinal cord injuries in Australian community level rugby union: understanding risks, outcomes and opportunities for prevention,” investigates the long-term implications following permanent injury and the culture around safety in sport. Her research is centred around understanding the factors related to quality of life and identifying opportunities to improve support by capturing the perspectives and experiences of the person with a spinal cord injury.
