• Location: Live Webinar with Q&A

Join us for a conversation on breast injuries in female athletes, led by Dr Hilary Grover with Associate Professor Deirdre McGhee and Dr Bronwyn Kennedy.

A world leading researcher on breast injuries in female athletes, Deirdre will talk about research and current evidence on breast injuries in women’s sport. She’ll also provide guidance for clinicians on the assessment, classification and management of breast injuries.

Bronwyn will clarify the evidence of any proposed association between breast trauma and breast cancer. She’ll provide specific guidance to sports doctors on the differentiation between changes in breast structure secondary to breast trauma and breast cancer, as well as best-practice management of these ‘delayed presentations’.

The discussion will also cover how sports medicine research and practice, and sporting organisations can improve the prevention and management of breast injuries in women’s sport.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A.

This event is free for SMA Members. Registration is essential. Please ensure you check the time zone when diarising this event.
