This workshop will be highly practical and will focus on basic running mechanics/fundamentals including an explanation of good running technique, common running related injuries, tips for how to run more efficiently, prehab/ mobility exercises for runners and a Q&A. It will be facilitated by a local running expert and sports chiropractor Pete Garbutt.
Graduating from Macquarie University in 1995, Pete went on to complete his Sports Masters degree in 2000. With over 20 years of working with sports from indoor soccer to beach volleyball, pole dancing to water polo at all levels from local to international, Pete has a wealth of experience with managing sports injury and performance. Pete is the President of the International Sports Chiropractic Federation. In 2015 Pete was awarded a Fellowship with Sports Medicine Australia and Australian Chiropractor of the Year in 2016. Pete Lectures throughout the world on sports chiropractic and running technique with his first book published in November 2016 on running technique ‘The Running Machine: A Users Guide’ Pete’s interest outside the clinic include stand-up paddleboard racing, running and spending time with his family.
