SMAWA runs a number of professional development events and general community and member education workshops that provide the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in all areas of sports medicine.


Rehabilitation Series

Date:  Wednesday 17th August 2016

Time: 6.30-9.00pm.

Location: State Netball Centre Program Room

SMA WA will host a two-part rehabilitation series looking at the rehabilitation roles of the physiotherapist and strength and conditioning coach in returning an athlete to play and explore the specific techniques required for knee and shoulder injuries. It will also discuss how health professionals can assist athletes in the rehabilitation process to decrease the incident of re-injury.

Physiotherapist for the Western Force Mr David Dawes will present Session one which will explore the role of the physiotherapist in diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of the knee and shoulder and session two will follow on with the role of the strength and conditioning coach in returning the athlete to play.
