Sports Medicine Australia workshops for clubs include the latest sports medicine information for your sporting community. All of our workshops are interactive and engaging for club participants. Workshop information can be taylored especially for your club’s sport.
Injury Prevention and Management
Participants will develop an awareness of the various skills and techniques to help in the prevention, assessment and immediate management of injuries. Workshops can be designed specific to your clubs sport.
Topics Include:
- Strategies for the prevention of injuries
- Warm Up’s, Stretching and Cool Down’s
- Hydration and physical Activity
- Injury Assessment
- Immediate Injury Management
Nutrition & Hydration
This workshop will educate participants in nutrition recommendations before, during and after exercise. Practical components allow participants to grasp a greater understanding of the nutritional components in a variety of foods.
Topics Include:
- Carbohydrates, Fat and Protein
- Pre, during and post event
- Optimal performance and recovery
Sports Taping
This hands-on workshop will educate participants in the specific taping techniques to prevent injuries and help athletes return to play. Participants will develop an understanding of some common injuries and some of the general anatomy involved.
Joint choices include:
- Ankle
- Shoulder
- Knee
Basic Life Support (CPR)
This practical workshop will provide participants with skills in Basic Life Support (CPR) and learn how to use a defibrillator. Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in HLTFA301B Apply First Aid (which incorporates HLTCPR201A-Perform CPR).
