The use of acupuncture – Q & A session

Dr Tim Begbie

Tim graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Arts and an Honours Degree in Medicine in 1974. His interest in people led him towards a career in General Practice. During a period working as a locum around Australia, he noted various limitations in what was available for treatment of certain conditions, in particular headaches, neck pain and back pain. As a consequence, he studied Orthopaedic Medicine under Dr James Cyriax of London and acupuncture at the Chinese Acupuncture Research Foundation in Taipei, Taiwan. After 20 years of using acupuncture in his general practice, he has decided to devote his time to clinical acupuncture. It is also hoped in the future, that he will be able to pursue some research in the subject.
