Dr Greg Hoy, Orthopaedic Surgeon

Greg completed his medical training at Monash University, an orthopaedic training program with Melbourne Orthopaedic Group, and then spent two and a half years in post graduate training, both in Australia and overseas. He returned to the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group in 1993 to also become a visiting surgeon at the Alfred Hospital. He is now a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery of Monash University and works as a Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon at Melbourne Orthopaedic Group, with the practice having a specific emphasis on sporting injuries. Greg is dual qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Australian College of Sports Physicians.

Wendy Braybon, Specialist Sports Physiotherapist

Wendy is an APA titled Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with qualifications in Remedial Gymnastics and Recreational Therapy, and postgraduate qualifications in both Sports and Manipulative Therapy. She was an Australian team Physiotherapist at the Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney and Beijing Olympics, Head Physiotherapist for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games and will be heading to the games in Delhi later this year. Wendy also travels with the Victorian and Australian Gymnastics teams, and is currently Coordinator of Physiotherapy at the VIS. She also lectures at Melbourne and La Trobe Universities at master’s level in Sports Physiotherapy.

A current Australian athlete from the VIS will also be providing an athlete’s perspective on the sporting shoulder.

Cost: SMA Member registration $25, student registration $30, Non-Member registration $40. All costs are including GST.
