Date and Venue
The 2012 Sports Medicine Queensland State Conference which will be held on the weekend of February 11 and 12, 2012 at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast.
Program
SMA Qld invites all health professionals working in the areas of Sports Medicine, Sports and Exercise Science to attend this conference which will be the 41st Annual SMA Queensland Conference.
Call for abstracts
All health professionals whose research is relevant to Sports Medicine, Sports Science or Physical Activity are invited to submit an abstract of their work for consideration for a short podium presentation. Abstracts should be in Word format, and be not more than 300 words in length. The presenting author and all co-researchers should be clearly identified. The close for submission of abstracts is 31st October, 2011 and should be emailed to admin@sportsmedicine.com.au
Emerging Researchers Award
All papers put forward by undergraduate and postgraduate students will be considered for the SMA Qld Emerging Researchers Award. The prize for the winner of this award is a guaranteed plenary presentation of their paper at the 2012 Australian Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport to be held in Sydney, as well as free conference registration and return airfares to Sydney.
Conference Venue and Accommodation
Novotel Twin Waters is a favourite conference and holiday venue on the Sunshine Coast. The resort offers several included free activities such as sailing and canoeing on its own private lake, mountain bikes, a large pool and is also close to a patrolled beach. SMA has negotiated great room rates for conference delegates.
