Sports Trainer Coverage Service
SMA NSW can provide Sports Trainer personnel for an event at your sporting organisation, school or community event.
What is Sports Trainer Coverage?
Sports Trainers who hold a current SMA Sports Trainer Level 1 or 2 accreditation are available to provide First Aid and Sports Trainer services at any sporting event.
Our personnel are appropropriately trained and insured to provide immediate injury assistance, respond to incidents and provide quality care to athletes, officials and spectators.
Sports Trainers are also appropriately trained in both preventative and injury management taping.
How do we cover you?
Sports Medicine Australia’s team of Sports Trainers are available to provide first aid coverage at your event. All our personnel are SMA accredited, and fully competent in sporting injury prevention and management. Sports Trainers have skills and knowledge in the areas of sports taping, soft tissue injuries, nutrition and hydration, as well as first aid skills such as CPR, wound and fracture management. All of our personnel are fully covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance.
What events can we provide coverage for?
Sports Trainer services can be used for any sporting event, whether at a local, regional or state level. Some events that SMA-NSW has provided Sports Trainer services for in the past include:
- 2010 Australian Aged Swimming Championships
- 2010 Telstra Grand Prix Swimming Championships
- 2010 Eastern University Games
- 2010 National Street Soccer Championships
- 2009 World Masters Games
- 2009 NAB AFL U16 Championships
- 2008 East Coast Challenge
- 2008 Holden National Drive Program
- 2008 National Youth Touch Championships
- 2008 NSWCIS Netball Challenge
Sport Trainer Coverage Costs
The Sports Trainer Coverge service fee is $38.50 per hour / per SMA Sports Trainer.
Coverage Request Application Information
It is preferred that an application for coverage should be lodged at least 7 working days prior to the event to ensure that a Sports Trainer is available. For major events which require a number of trainers, 2 to 3 months notice is requested to ensure your individual event requirements are meet.
