WA Level 2 Sports Trainer Course

The Level 2 Sports Trainers Course is designed to build upon the skills gained in the Level One Sports Trainer Course. The course content provides trainers with specific knowledge and experience in a variety of areas significant to injury prevention and management. Coupled with industry experience the course aims to improve a sports trainers skills and knowledge of the provision of first aid and sports medicine services.
Prerequisites
- Current First Aid Qualification (Sports / Senior/ Apply)
- Current CPR Qualification
- Letter outlining 50 hours practical experience as a Level 1 Sports Trainer.
Course Duration
The Level 2 Sports Trainers course involves 9 hours of core units (presented on one day) and 12 hours of modules aimed at increasing knowledge of general principles of sports medicine.
Core units include:
• Dental Injuries in Sport
• Advanced Crisis Management
• Rehabilitation
• Psychology of Sports Injuries
• Special Population
Modules
The 4 modules are presented in 3 hour seminars and topics include:
• Introduction to Sports Massage – Sat 28th July (10.00am – 1.00pm)
• Advanced Sports Taping – Wed 8th August (6.30pm – 9.30pm)
• Spinal Management – Wed 22nd August (6.30pm – 9.30pm)
• Advanced Resuscitation – Wed 5th September (6.30pm – 9.30pm)
Course Costs
$310 per person (includes GST)
This course includes all materials and resources.
On successful completion of the course, the Level 2 Sports Trainer will receive a three year national accreditation, and identification card, plus a Statement of Attainment in HLTFA404B- Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques.
