Advanced Taping for Sport

This is an advanced taping course, including taping techniques for the knee, shoulder, and advanced anatomy.  Prospective participants must have completed the level 1 Sports Trainers course or provide evidence of equivalent experience.

Courses Scheduled for 2013 are:

10:00am – 3:00pm

Lecturer: Sports Physiotherapist
Duration:
5 hour
Venue: ACT Sports House 100 Maitland Street Hackett.  Can be delivered at any venue for groups of 10 or more.
Cost: $120 SMA Members  – $130 Non-Members

Content: Introduction, using tape, precautions, allergies, purpose of taping, tape selection, preparation and application.

  • Syndesmosis
  • Achilles Tendon
  • Medial Tibial Border (Shin Splints)
  • Superior Tib – Fib Joint
  • Knee – Medial Collateral Ligament
  • Knee – Patello Femoral Joint Dysfunction (Runner’s Knee)
  • Knee – Patello Fat Pad Impingement (Puffy Knee)
  • Knee – Patella Tendonopathy (Jumper’s Knee)
  • Knee – Osgood Schlatter’s Syndrome
  • Ilio – Tibial Band Offload
  • Groin
  • Wrist
  • Elbow
  • Shoulder Impingement
  • Shoulder Instability
  • Shoulder – Acromioclavicular Joint – acute and competition
  • Postural – Thoracic Spine
  • Postural – Lumbar Spine

Obviously a lot to cover in 5 hours – so the class majority vote will rule on any which gets left out if time is running short.
