ESSA Exercise & Diabetes – Assessment & Prescription Roadshow

This workshop will be a new updated version of the previous workshop, targeted at a higher level given recent improvements in knowledge of AEP’s. It will include up to date changes to the diagnosis of Diabetes and cover the new exercise prescription recommendations for patients. Additionally, it will discuss new research that has been published and importantly how this information has contributed to the new exercise guidelines. Further, comprehensive information about complications associated with diabetes and how they can influence exercise prescription will be provided. In a new component to the workshop, practical recommendations for the clinical assessment for patients with diabetes will be provided. This will include approaches to examining a patient’s history and provide practical examination skills for patients with Diabetes. Information of Diabetes medication will also be provided to enhance your knowledge of typically medication regimes that are currently being prescribed.
