New Positions at the University of Western Sydney

Foundation Professor / Associate Professor in PhysiotherapyUniversity of Western Sydney

As part of the expansion of health science offereings at the University of Western Sydney (UWS), planning has commenced for a new and contemporary Physiotherapy program. We are seeking to appoint a Professor or Associate Professor of Physiotherapy to lead this exciting development. You will be inovative, dynamic and enthusiastic and willing to shar in the future of the UWS. You will work closely with other staff in developing and implementing the physiotherapy progra, and you will contribute to the research of the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.

You will hold a recognised physiotherapy qualification and a PhD in a relevant area, You will have innovative curriculum development skills, higher degree supervision experience, a strong pyblication record, success in attracting external research funds, as well as academic leadership experience. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Education (PDHPE) - 2 positions

The University of Western Sydney is currently recruiting 2 Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Physical Education (PDHPE) for its School of Biomedical and Health Sciences. The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant area, a strong publication record, research supervision experience, success in attracting external research funds, and will be experienced in contemporary methods of learning and teaching. Specific expertise in one or more of the following is required: motore development and skill acquistion, coaching and general sports science, and socio-cultural aspects of health, recreation, sport and exercise.

ROWVILLE SPORTS MEDICINE CENTRE OPENING SOON!

We are taking expressions of interest for applications to work in an exciting new development in Rowville (close to Knox City, 20mins from Melbourne CBD). The centre will facilitate a variety of allied health practitioners including podiatrists, sports physicians, dieticians and psychologists and will have a large referral source from 6 full time physiotherapists. This is a great opportunity to expand your practice and work in a successful multi-disciplinary environment. Hours are flexible and negotiable, with potential to work casual/part time to full time. This is a sub-contracted position.

Tournament Doctor for 2009 Brisbane Tennis International

Tennis Queensland is seeking to appoint a Doctor (referred to as the Tournament Physician) for the 2009 Brisbane International. The Brisbane International is a combined mens and womens tennis event being conducted at the new State Tennis Centre at Tennyson. As a requirement of the ATP and WTA associations, we are required to provide our athletes the services of Tournament Physician.

Remuneration options can be discussed on an individual basis, options include access to tickets to the event, accreditation to the event etc.

This is a great event to be involved in and exciting opportunity to be close to the action at a world class event in Brisbane and the new state of the art Tennis Centre.

Our requirements include the provision of a Chief Physician who would be the contact person for the WTA and ATP during the event. The role is primarily for the players at the event, separate assistance is sought for general public. The WTA and ATP also provide Primary Health Care Providers (PHCP) and Massage Therapists separate to this role.

If you are interested, or would like any further information on the role, please do not hesitate to contact me for further details. Please feel free to pass this information on to other local Sports Physicians who may be interested in this role. We are looking to secure a Physician in the coming weeks. Our preference is for qualified physicians to have a sports specialty.
