15.12.2017

Event Information: Women In Sport

Come and join us for the VIC State Symposium on 18th February 2018 focused on ‘Women in Sport: Challenges Faced by the Female Athlete and Clinician in Sport.’

Experts from a range of disciplines will present varying perspectives on the topic- from athletes to coaches, physios, sports doctors, dietitians, psychologists and researchers who are all leaders in their field. These presenters will explore topical issues facing women in sport and exercise including:

  • The female experience in sport (both for the clinician and the athlete) in a Q &A panel discussion.
  • The effect of physical activity on females during different life stages (eg. during/after pregnancy, exercise post-menopause)
  • Common sports medicine issues for active females (hormonal effect on injuries, disordered eating)
  • Hot topics in female participation in sport (gender inequality)

With the insights and practical applications you will get from these experts, you’ll walk away from the symposium with more confidence in being able to manage the common problems that affect these athletes and a better understanding of what it is like to be a female athlete.

We hope to see you there! Register now and secure your space!
