Hamstrung: The Injury Journey

Prof Craig Purdam

Craig is Head of the Physical Therapies Department, Australian Institute of Sport.
He has been employed at the AIS since the inception of the physiotherapy department in 1982. (33 yrs).  

He is also Adjunct Professor – Sports Physiotherapy, University of Canberra (2009-) and was Physiotherapist to the Australian team for 5 Olympic games 1984-2000.
Craig was Deputy Chief physiotherapist in Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney and head physiotherapist, Commonwealth Games, Melbourne 2006.
He also held the position of physiotherapist to the Australian Men’s Basketball team 1984-2000.
Craig has International affiliations with the Australian swimming team (1982) and Australian track and field team (1983) as well as Australian Rowing Team (2001) as physiotherapist to their respective world championships.

The Hamstrung: The hamstring injury journey conference will take the delegate through the athlete’s journey during a hamstring injury from, prevention all the way to return to play. It will showcase talks from all disciplines of the multidisplinary team involved with hamstring injury management with learning points from the combination of landmark research projects and vast clinical expertise.
