Important information on submitting a paper

All accepted 400 word abstracts will be published in a December 2016 supplement to the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, providing registration fees have been paid by 31 August 2016. All presenting authors must be registrants for the full conference and must present original work.
Please note only the 400 word abstracts will be published, the longer maximum of 1 x A4 page papers will be used for awards judging only.

Dates and deadlines

Abstract submission deadline: Midnight Wednesday 13 April 2016 Australian Eastern Standard Time

Notification to authors if their abstracts have been accepted for presentation and the type of presentation allocated: 31 May 2016

Notification to authors if their maximum 1 x A4 page paper has been shortlisted for awards: 30 June 2016.
Please note that those with shortlisted papers will be required to present in a dedicated award judging session on Wednesday 12 October from 0930 – 1230.

Deadline for registration for presenting authors: 31 August 2016

About the 2016 Sports Medicine Australia Conference

The 2016 Sports Medicine Australia Conference will focus on current research and practice in areas relating to the promotion of, and safe participation in, all kinds of sport, exercise, injury prevention and physical activity. The 2016 Sports Medicine Australia Conference will provide an interactive educational forum of the highest standard, promoting the latest physical activity and health developments amongst key and influential industry professionals.

The 2016 Sports Medicine Australia Conference will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, 12 – 15 October 2016.
